Unna (Dortmund) is at the heart of our service.
Situated just to the east of the Ruhr Valley area in western Germany, the site sits next to our nationwide Woolworths transport operations.
Delivering to all major German high streets at least 2 times a week, this facility can collect your product for onward distribution and can also frequently deliver to these destinations. If your store or warehouse is not on our existing routes, then we'll do what we can to accommodate you. Our arrangement with Woolworths provides for flexible delivery times, so your needs are quite likely to be slotted into our network with ease.
To smooth this along, we employ first class vehicle planning software from our central planning department in Gochsheim, which tracks all of our vehicles and routes them in the most effective pattern for that day's operations.
Unna (Dortmund)
Strategically situated just to the east of the Ruhr Valley area of western Germany, this 35,000 square foot site can get into the Ruhr valley area quickly, yet is far enough away from the heavy traffic in that area to effect deliveries through the rest of Germany effectively.
Daily scheduled vehicle movements link the Unna site with all other Clipper Bestaendig sites, thus providing an effective cross docking site for wider Germany.
Our loaded vehicles will leave for the UK at 16.00 each day. Our cross dock facility in Unna can quickly load our vehicles, providing for a daily cut off time at 15.30 each day.
Then its off to the train..
Transportation
Our usual mode of transport between Germany and the UK is via the Eurotunnel at Calais.
Our commercial arrangement with Eurotunnel provides for very competitive rates against other modes of crossing transport. We currently run around 15 return trips on Eurotunnel a week, and find the service fast and reliable against other modes, which ensures your product gets to the UK quickly.
Then its off to Rugby. However, if your product is destined for London or the south of England, we can drop into our 250,000 square foot site in London, to cross dock your product onto our wide range of delivery vehicles based there. From here, we can operate same day or next day services from Germany into the London area.
Rugby (UK)
Our Rugby site is a 100,000 square foot facility, which is situated in the heart of the UK's distribution zone.
Our vehicles from Germany will arrive into Rugby by around 12.00 on day 2. From this point, your product will be marshalled into its delivery destination points and loaded with other Clipper customers for onward delivery.
From Rugby, all product to the rest of the UK is guaranteed for next day delivery. Even for Ireland, we trunk through the evening to a night ferry, which allows for next day Irish distribution through our Irish partners.
And if all of this isn't fast enough for you, let us know and we'll find a quicker approach. And, of course, all of these services are available the other way around. UK to Germany, that is!

The German - UK operations are our focus in 2009. Our goal is to get this service right, offering timely and costly operations that you can rely on.
From the start of 2010, we will role these solutions out to include collection and deliveries between Germany and Spain, Italy and France through our European Service Partners. These are currently in the planning stage - the news page will update on progress.
